The regional native plant guide will help you beautify your garden while helping our native ecosystems to survive and flourish.
The right native plants for wherever you are. All the plants recommended in the guide are appropriate for the Wellington region. Variations in climate and landscape have produced local differences in the plants found there. We have divided the Wellington region into 14 zones, from the windswept southern coast, through the cooler, moister upper Hutt Valley hills and the mild Kapiti Coast to the hot, dry Wairarapa plains. We’ve identified and recommended plants that will flourish in each zone.
