BEYOND APPLE PIE, SAVOURING YOUR SEASONAL FRUIT compiled by Jennifer Hutson, spiral bound paperback. This is both a reprint and a rewrite of the Recipe Book compiled by members of the New Zealand Tree Crops Association over thirty years ago to encourage the use of more of the crops being grown in New Zealand. Some of the crops were so new that recipes did not exist in New Zealand. Olives, figs and various fruits, such as the sub tropical Casimiroa and Cherimoya, were not well known in our gardens at that time. This book is meant as a book to be used often. Keep it handy. When the bucketfuls of feijoas are being picked up they can be frozen and used later. Good quality walnuts and hazlenuts are plentiful in many backyards and here are the recipes to make the best use of them.
Chapters in the book include: Almonds, Avocado, Babaco, Blueberries, Casimiroa, Cherimoya, Chestnuts, Citrus, Feijoa, Figs, Hazelnuts, Macadamia Nuts, Mixed Nuts, Nashi, Olives, Persimmons, Pine Nuts, Pickles Jams and preserves, Quince, Tamarillos, Walnuts
