Created by the Duchess of Northumberland this is a garden that teems with life and is not afraid to show it. The centrpiece is The Grand Cascade which moves more than 7,000 gallons of water per minute through its 21 weirs and flows down the hill like lava. Powerful water jets blast high into the air. There is the calm of the serenity garden where secret compartments contain beautiful plantings of perennials, shrubs and roses. The Alnwick garden is diverse as any garden you are likely to visit.
Whether it be the David Austin Rose Garden with its wonderful Alnwick rose or the awesome tree house, the William Pye water sculptures or the Poison Garden, The Alnwick Garden has seen plently of changes since Capability Brown first set foot in it in the 18th century and is likely to see many more.
