Author(s): PJ McKelvey

Forestry | Don McMillan | Trees & Shrubs | History | Rare & Collectable

This is the first of a series of bulletins the purpose of which is to classify the indigenous forests in types and to describe fully the structure and composition of each type, to show by means of detailed maps the distribution of the types, to offer theory on the development of the extant forest, to describe the changes wrought by the impact of man and animals, and to predict the constitution of future forests-in short, to provide a synecological foundation for both academic and practising foresters.
