Anne Endt was a dynamic lady who lived in Oratia all her New Zealand life. Most people knew her through the rose garden she had created there. Her wonderful garden was opened to the public in order to raise funds for the SPCA. Anne was born in South Africa to Dutch parents. When she was three years old her family returned to Holland where she met and married her husband. They had three children and after World War II decided to emigrate to New Zealand. The history pertaining to West Auckland is locked up in the home and garden she created at number 2 Nola Road.
